Why we play
A Leg To Stand On
“Our mission is to provide prosthetic limbs, orthotic braces, appropriately fitted wheelchairs, and continued care to CoolKids from birth through their 25th birthday.”
A New York nonprofit that partners with local orthopedic providers in 14 countries to give kids with limb disabilities prosthetics, braces, and wheelchairs, and the ongoing care to grow with them.
More than 26,000 kids helped since 2003. ALTSO calls them CoolKids.
Rocktoberfest started in 2004 as a small “Hedge Fun Happy Hour” and grew into ALTSO’s annual benefit concerts, played by people from the finance industry. This year’s New York show is October 15 at Hard Rock Cafe.
Rocktoberfest NYC ticket sales, donations, and sponsorships all go to ALTSO’s work. In their words: “Your support provides prosthetic limbs, orthotics, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs, giving CoolKids the freedom to move forward.”
